Welcome to Cattly. We provide a platform that helps farmers and traders across India discover livestock listings near them and talk to each other by voice. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cattly app and website (together, the "Service").
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, posting a listing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under Indian law.
- You must use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws, including livestock, animal-welfare and local trade regulations.
- You must not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law or by a prior termination.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your access secure.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- One person should maintain one genuine account; fake, duplicate or impersonating accounts are not allowed.
- Tell us promptly at support@cattly.in if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Our role — a neutral marketplace
Cattly provides discovery and communication tools only. We are not the buyer, seller, agent, broker, auctioneer, transporter or guarantor in any transaction. Any contract for the sale of an animal is solely between the buyer and the seller. We do not verify the health, age, breed, yield, ownership or legality of any animal, except for the limited, optional identity check described in Section 8.
5. Listing rules
- List only live animals that you own or are lawfully authorised to sell.
- Provide accurate photos, pricing, breed and health information. Photos must be of the actual animal.
- Do not post duplicate, misleading, fraudulent or illegal listings.
- Do not list animals whose sale is prohibited or restricted in your jurisdiction.
- We may, at our discretion, remove, reject or re-rank any listing that violates these Terms or harms users.
6. Prohibited conduct
When using Cattly you must not:
- Harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate or abuse other users.
- Post unlawful, obscene, hateful, or misleading content.
- Spam users, scrape the Service, or attempt to bypass safety limits.
- Circumvent verification, manipulate rankings, or create fake reviews or reports.
- Use the Service for money laundering, illegal animal trade, or any unlawful purpose.
- Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service or other users' accounts.
7. Voice chat rules & limits
Communication on Cattly is voice-first and stays inside the app to protect your phone number. To keep the marketplace safe and spam-free, the following safeguards apply:
- You cannot contact your own listing.
- Until a seller accepts a conversation, a buyer's intro is capped (currently up to 2 messages and 60 seconds total).
- There is a daily cap on the number of new conversations a buyer can start (currently 5 in any rolling 24 hours).
- Voice messages may be reviewed where abuse is reported. Repeated reports can lead to temporary or permanent restrictions.
These limits may change as we tune the system against abuse; the current values are shown in the app.
8. Seller verification & badges
Verification is optional. If you choose to verify, you consent to us manually reviewing the identity documents you upload to grant a "verified" badge, which may improve your ranking. A badge reflects an identity check only — it is not a guarantee of any seller's honesty or of an animal's quality. We may revoke a badge if we believe it was obtained improperly.
9. Fees
Browsing listings, posting animals and talking to sellers by voice is currently free. If we introduce paid features in future, we will clearly mark them and obtain any required consent before you are charged. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
10. Transactions, payments & animal condition
- All negotiations, payments, inspections, transport and delivery are arranged directly between buyer and seller, off-platform.
- Cattly does not process payments and does not hold money in escrow. Never pay in advance to someone you have not met and verified.
- You are responsible for satisfying yourself, before paying, about an animal's health, age, yield, ownership and legality, and for complying with movement and trade rules.
- Cattly is not responsible for the condition of any animal or for any loss arising from a transaction between users.
11. Your content & the licence you grant
You retain ownership of the listings, photos and recordings you post. To operate the Service, you grant Cattly a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce and display your content for the purpose of running and promoting the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to everything you post.
12. Intellectual property
The Cattly name, logo, software, design and content (other than user content) are owned by Cattly and protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute or reverse-engineer any part of the Service except as permitted by law or with our written consent.
13. Reporting & moderation
You can report listings, messages or users that break these Terms. We review reports and may remove content, warn, restrict or remove users. To protect the community, multiple genuine reports against a user may trigger automatic temporary restrictions. We aim to be fair and to give context where we can.
14. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or where required by law or to protect users. On termination, the licences you granted for content already shared in conversations may persist to the extent needed for the other participant, but your listings will be removed.
15. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that listings are accurate, lawful or genuine.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cattly and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, livestock, data or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from any transaction or dealing with another user. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cattly from claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, your transactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.
18. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer-protection rights, the courts at the seat of Cattly's registered office in India will have jurisdiction. Before going to court, we encourage you to contact us so we can try to resolve the matter amicably.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
